Even the most disciplined among us can find it challenging to maintain a consistent schedule for our social media postings. Regular status updates and tweets are vital to business promotion and engagement. However with so much to juggle, our posts can often be hurried affairs.
The free app called Buffer provides the ability to thoughtfully pre-plan a social media campaign.
Acting as a management dashboard, it allows you to schedule and share content simultaneously across multiple social outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.
Once you have signed in, you select the profiles you wish to post to. Then add the content, link or image you wish to share and finally hit “Buffer.” Your post will then be set to publish according to the schedule you created for it. Alternatively, you can share it immediately with the “Share Now” option.
Buffer also provides analytics by tracking the performance of your posts. Viewable are the number of clicks, favorites and retweets each post has generated.
The free Buffer plan only includes one account from each social network. Upgrade to a paid plan, if you would like to add more.
Other social dashboards you might explore are Hootsuite, Sprout Social and Cyfe. Each differs in their functionality and the tools offered. The simplicity of Buffer makes it a great beginner choice but if you’re ready for more complexity then Hootsuite might be a better alternative.
But whichever you choose, your social media management will be made a lot easier.
