Member Profiles enables you to create a directory your members can join. A member's profile can include personal details, images, videos, document files and allow member-to-member messaging. This directory is only accessible to logged-in members.
By default, a profile will not display. The member needs to opt-in for their profile to be viewable.
How to set up the member directory
- Click My Members.
- Select Member Profiles from the drop down menu.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Set Yes, to enable members to upload files.
- Set Yes, to enable member to member messaging.
How to add custom field titles
- Enter up to three descriptive titles for member information.
- And Save Settings.
How to add additional custom fields
You can add additional custom fields using the Custom Fields tab on the Member Profiles page.
- Click Member Profiles.
- Select Custom Fields tab.
- Click Add to create an additional field.
- Give it a title.
- Choose the type of area you want to include.
Text: will create a space that allows one line of text.
Text Area: will allow the member to add multiple lines of text.
How to add a directory link in the top navigation menu
- Launch the Homepage Editor.
- Click Menus in the Sidebar. Then Top.
- Click +add menu.
- Add a link title.
- Enter the internal URL: /profiles/viewall
- The directory will display five profiles per page.
How the directory search works
The profile search function will match any word in a profile except those in the custom fields. It will only deliver search results on members who have set the option Show Profile to YES and whose subscriptions are not expired in the member manager.
Member-to-member messaging
Within the member profiles, members have the ability to message each other.
How to send a message
- Click on the Contact button on a member’s profile.
- A contact form will pop up.
- Your Sender Name will automatically populate, but you can edit it.
- Enter your message.
- Tick the I’m not a robot box.
- Click on the Send Message button.
- An email notification from website@subhub.com will be sent to the member you’ve contacted.
How to view a message
- When a message has been sent, you will receive a notification from website@subhub.com
- Click on the REPLY button
- You will be prompted first to log into the website.
- Once logged in, click the My Account link then select Your Profile from the drop down menu.
- Click Edit Profile.
- Select the Messages tab.
- This is your Message Inbox, you'll be able to view all the member messages in which you are a participant.
- To read the message, click the link under Subject.
How to reply to a message
- Click the Reply link under Action tab.
You can delete any messages by ticking on the box next to the message and then clicking the Delete button.
How to search your messages
- The search function will be based from the fields: From, Subject and Date.
How to edit your admin profile
- Click My Members.
- Select Member Profiles from the drop down menu.
- Click Edit My Profile tab.
- Upload a profile image of 400x400 pixels.
- Complete your Profile.
What types of files are accepted
- Video files must be in MP4 format up to 4GB.
- Acceptable document files are PDF, XLS, Docs, PowerPoint and Zip.
How members edit their profiles
- Members access their profile page using the My Account link in the top navigation menu.
- Then select Your Profile from the drop down menu.
NOTE: The My Account link is only visible to logged in members. The My Account link is not visible to admins.
