Copying and Pasting From Word and Other Text Documents

If you have written your content in a Word or other text document and you want to copy and paste it into the editor on your site there are two options available to you.

When you copy content from a Word.doc or similar desktop publishing program you are also copying the code from that solution - which won't work well on the web. It is important to clean up the content before you try and publish it - to avoid any issues with displaying or formatting.

Remember, these programs are used offline and not for web publishing.

Copy and Paste Directly Into Your Content

  • Select and highlight the content you want to copy
  • Copy content (Windows CTRL + C / Mac CMD + C)
  • Click back to your SubHub site and open the editor
  • Click on the Source Code icon: < >
  • Paste in the content (Windows CTRL + V / Mac CTRL + V) and click OK
  • The content now appears in the editor in plain text, ready to be formatted / styled

Clean Up Content Before Using the Editor

  • Select and highlight the content you want to copy
  • Copy content (Windows CTRL + C / Mac CMD + C)
  • Open up a HTML stripper tool such as http://word2cleanhtml.com/
  • Paste in your content and click - Convert to Clean HTML
  • Copy and paste new clean content into the SubHub editor
